What to do without my serger?

I have been putting off getting my serger cleaned but decided it was time!  I also figured I could use a sewing break.  Well after 2 days I'd had enough of a break and really needed to work on something so I decided to start in on a new quilt.  (I've been mostly sewing clothes recently and really need my serger to do that!)  I do love to quilt but have recently discovered a major love for sewing my kids clothing.  But anyway, back to the quilt!  I bought this pattern at one of my local quilt shops The Cottage Rose it is called 'Up and Down Stair Case' and is a jelly roll pattern which I'm not always crazy about but was drawn to this one.  I used a Roof Top garden jelly roll by Moda which I bought at Burgundy Buttons .  I added the pops of white because it seemed to need it.  I love how it turned out!  It is a nice lap sized quilt and I'll post a picture of it again once I've got it quilted up.

Hope my serger comes home soon.  I've got some major clothing sewing I want to do!

Welcome!

Hello!  Welcome to my blog.  I've been thinking about blogging for quite awhile and have decided with my 30th Birthday just a couple of weeks away, there's no time like the present to start!  My hope for this blog is to provide a way to share some of my creations!  I owe nearly all of my inspiration to the sewing blog community and want to join in.
Okay....So who am I?  Well besides a woman on the edge of turning thirty, I am mostly a Mom and wife.  I've been married for 8 years and we have 2 busy little ones.  Our daughter is 4 and our son is 10 months.  I am lucky to stay home and enjoy the time to be with my kids but could always use a bit more time to SEW!  I also like to bake, garden and organize!  :)
